Harriman Lineages
These charts show the lineage of present day descendants of Leonard and John Harriman, whose lines have been clearly established. This is a work in progress -
most names shown are those where a complete line has been assembled from the ancestors down to the present, but some are not complete.
- If you are not on here, we do not have your information.
- If your ancestor is not here, we have no members from his/her line (but would welcome one!).
- If you can make the connection to one of the ancestral Harrimans shown here, please send us the details.
You can use the form here , the query message board here or e-mail us at query@harriman-family.org.
The Charts
There are a lot of names here. You can adjust the size of the text with your browser's View=>Text Size menu.
Using the smallest size puts more names on your screen. A large (17 or 19-inch) high resolution (1024x768 or 1280x1024) monitor will help.
To find your own name
- To find your own name go to the index here. It will give you the index number in the main chart.
Simply click on the index number and it will take you to your name on the main chart. Only members of the HFA are listed.
The main chart
- The main chart is arranged by Harriman lines.
- Along the top are the generation numbers, starting with Leonard and John and ending with generation 12,
the furthest generation of our membership as adults.
- Note that the two rightmost columns (generations 1 and 2) are colored to distinguish the different sons of Leonard and John.
- If there is no name under Current HFA Member, it means that we know the line as shown down to a current generation,
but it does not connect to a member of the Association.
Names in color
- Names in red are those who have been DNA tested.
- Names in blue indicate a Harriman daughter - all succeeding generations will not have the Harriman name.
- Names in purple indicate a Harriman daughter who married a Harriman, thus retaining the Harriman name and creating a double lineage.
- Member whose names are in italics are deceased.
Blocks in color
A block shown in gray means there is no generation - it connects an indexed person to that same person in the generation column.
This line is complete to the present day.
If a block is shown in red, then that connection is suspected, but not thoroughly researched and MAY be wrong.
If a block is shown in yellow, it means that that connection is believed to be correct, but not fully proven.
If a block is shown in light blue, it means that the name is thought to have changed from Harriman to Herriman.
- If a block is shown as white with no entry, then we have no information for that generation in that line.
If you see anything that you do not agree with, please contact us at query@harriman-family.org.
The current descendants shown here include, for the most part, members or former members of the Harriman Family Assocation.
