Why don't we make this freely available to everyone?

The Harriman database is a project of the Harriman Family Association. With only a few exceptions all of the research and data entry is done by volunteers and has been carried out for over 30 years. The man/woman-hours involved have been enormous and some of our researchers spend a great deal of their personal time on it. Nevertheless, there are expenses involved. These include

Many of these expenses are simply paid by the researchers without compensation. But funds are available as needed.

In addition, the database is being continually updated and corrected. We do not want incorrect information circulating on the internet. There is enough of that already. You can be assured that what you see in our database has been carefully vetted with accurate sources.

However, we have provided a free public member subset containing enough information to trace a family line.
